Division C Success Plan for 2016/2017
Director Benjamin Hunt

Last Update: March 11, 2017

The Division Council consists of:
Gillian Whitney, Assistant Director. The Area Directors: Holly Smith from Area C1, Shelly Belflower from Area C2, Fee Busby from Area C3 and immediate past district director.

The Division Council will meet and discuss:
We plan to meet quarterly. We will correspond regularly via email.

The District is asked to help with:
Positive and consistent recognition of what the Area Directors and clubs are doing well. Recognition will help motivate those who are not achieving.

The Division plan to pursue opportunities to develop leadership:
The biggest need in Division C is club coaching. But I, as the division director, have looked for people willing to step up and lead, and provide those people opportunities to step in and assist.

The Division plan to expand opportunities for Leadership:
We have been focused on helping existing club achieve. At the beginning of the year, 9 of the 13 clubs in Division C had less than 12 members. Only one of those clubs had coach assignments that would carry over to 2016/17. We have assigned new coaches to 4 of the other 8 clubs that need coaches. Those clubs are Energizers, Leadership Pathways, WSUAA and Twilight. One club, Orbital ATK, has grown to 12 members without coaching. As of March 11, 2017, coaches are still needed for I Express, Well Spoken Toast and Wildcat.

We have a multi-club open house for Ogden scheduled on March 28, 2017. We are working to ensure that every club in the area actively participates.

We have trained members in the use of social media to bring members to their clubs.

We are encouraging club officers and members to do what they already know to do.

We are seeing results so far. Last year, we had but one club in the division earn a distinguished club recognition. This year 8-9 clubs are still within striking distance. As the end of the year approaches, the plan will be to continue to encourage clubs and to focus on achieving the goals. If not for this year, to make next year's efforts a little easier.

The Division plan to get 75% of club officers trained:
This was already achieved in August with the assistance of the Area Directors and Past District Governors. Unfortunately, we fell a little short of this goal in December/January/February. The main TLI happened during a heavy snowstorm and many officers were not able to make it. Weather also hampered our efforts for a makeup training in February.

The Division plan for starting New Clubs:
Most of the year so far was focused on helping existing clubs grow. Now we are ready to follow-up on new club leads.

The Division plan for achieving education awards:
Recognition of those who achieve awards in a manner that all clubs and their members see it is one of the best ways to motivate all Toastmasters to achieve. The Division Director will also encourage all Education VPs to conduct surveys and ensure that they work with their members to achieve their goals.
